Using hypnotherapy when trying to become pregnant

A recent article tells the experience of a woman who tried to conceive for four years but was unsuccessful.  She had been considering IVF treatment but instead had a few hypnotherapy sessions with Paul McKenna and within a month was pregnant.

Nothing can ever be guaranteed but hypnotherapy is certainly worth considering if you are having difficulty conceiving and there is no medical cause.  Hypnosis is far less stressful than the IVF process and also far cheaper.

Each session will vary but what usually happens is a combination of relaxation, addressing any reasons why your mind may be getting in your way and helping you with positive visualisations.

It may sound odd that a part of your mind could be getting in your way when you are so keen to have a baby.  But sometimes old ways of thinking and habits can be a barrier.  For other people, it seems such an uphill struggle that positive visualisation is hard to do alone because it doesn't feel possible.

Even if you do decide to have IVF at a later date, the techniques you learn will be valuable during the process in keeping stress levels down.

I have had clients in both situations.  Some have had sessions with me and then gone on to conceive naturally and others have come to see me at the start of their IVF treatment and during it.
